How to use social media to increase sales.

In the last few years technology has grown tremendously and along with it social media.  Because of this fact businesses can’t ignore the power that social media has on customers and their buying power.  It is not only just the young adults and teenagers that uses social media, people from all generations are getting more comfortable with technology and how to use it.  Research has shown that the most popular social media sites for 2016 is Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Youtube and Instagram.

A few tips to help you use social media to increase your sales:

 

  1. Choose the best platform.

It is important for a business to know who their target market is and to know their target market well.If you know who the target market is you will know what social media platforms is the best way to reach them.On your Facebook page you can also make your reach of the market bigger by using Facebook adverts to target people whom fits into your target market demographic.

 

  2. Get started

Once you have chosen a platform get started.Even if you don’t know everything about the platforms you are using it is important to just start. Create an account for your business and start posting content and getting followers by liking other pages. It is important that when you create an account that you provide customers with your business contact information so that customers can reach you easier and quicker.

 

   3. Personalize

Make your posts interesting and frequent and post about what your target market is interested in.This will help get them to engage in a conversation.This way you will be able to get to know your target market better and find new ways to satisfy their needs. Posts can also include photos, videos and hashtags This will make it easy for customers to understand and it will grab their attention and keep them interested.There can also be posted on the pages that will take customers directly to business website.

 

  4. Customer service is important

Because your customers can talk to each other on social media you don’t want bad publicity or unhappy customers to spread something bad about your business.Be on top of customer problems and respond quickly to customers and give them the best service possible.When there is an unhappy customer online make sure that your other customers knows that the problem was  resolved.

 

  5. Add an online store directly to your social media platform

To also help increase sales more directly you could add a shopping cart to your Facebook page to help promote products and make it an easier experience for customers to shop.

 

I hope these tips help you to increase your sales and to help you manage your social media presence.  Remember if you maintain your social media accounts well it will be easy for other businesses that you want to do business with to find out more information about your company and this will help maintain your business reputation.
